Clefi's Musical Instruments
"Clefi's Musical Instruments" is the second workbook in the New Music Education School series created by Dr. Eva Šašinková. This workbook filled with wonderful illustrations by Czech illustrator Kateřina Kovářová, M.A. is designed for preschool and primary school students, as well as anyone who enjoys learning about music with an open heart and a childlike sense of wonder. Dr. Roman Placzek, an accomplished Czech-American cellist, educator, composer, and publisher, skillfully translated and adapted the content for English-speaking audiences.
In this volume, Clefi and his friends embark on an exciting adventure to explore the history of musical instruments and their various families. Our little guide will share the story of how musical instruments came to be, introduce us to musical sounds, showcase some of the first musical instruments, and explain the fundamental classification of instrumental families. Through songs, rhymes, and games, young future musicians will learn about percussion, wind instruments, and their subdivisions into the woodwinds and brasses. We will also meet the strings, the largest and most diverse instrumental families. But there are many more fascinating facts about musical instruments.
The workbook is filled with beautiful illustrations, engaging exercises, songs, riddles, and short rhymes, all designed to enhance the clear and accessible text.
About Dr. Eva's New Music Education School Series
To enhance the musical journey for our young musicians, we provide an engaging and informative book titled Clefi's Musical Instruments. This resource allows young musicians to explore the history of contemporary musical instruments and their fundamental families. Additionally, Dr. Eva has prepared three volumes of Clefi's Music Workbooks. These workbooks are designed to help aspiring musicians practice their newly acquired skills and knowledge while discovering intriguing facts about the nuances of music, musical symbols, and notation through fun and interactive exercises, rhymes, and songs. Furthermore, these books are a natural bridge between Clefi's Little Notebook and the more advanced Clefi's Music Notebooks.
Clefi's Music Notebooks 1, 2, 3, and 4 (currently being translated and adapted for English speaking readership) are designed to follow Clefi's Little Notebook. These four beautifully designed, full-color music textbooks are notable for their unique conceptual design. Each volume can be used independently as a complete unit. However, the author also designed them to work together as a cohesive method, allowing children to thoroughly understand the fundamentals of music theory in a friendly and engaging manner.
