Clefi's Music Workbook 2
"Clefi's Music Workbook 2" is an exciting journey into the world of music, designed as the second installment in a series of three supplemental exercise workbooks to the primary workbooks of the New Music Education School series. Preeminent Czech educator Dr. Eva Šašinková crafted it for little future musicians and music enthusiasts of any age who are eager to unlock the magic of music notation and theory. Once again, this book is also filled with wonderful illustrations by Czech illustrator Kateřina Kovářová, M.A. and skillfully translated and adapted for English-speaking audiences by Dr. Roman Placzek, an accomplished Czech-American cellist, educator, composer, and publisher. This workbook deepens young musicians' understanding of note durations, pitch, and note placement on the keyboard and musical staff.
Within these pages, young future musicians will explore more about the measures, unlock the secrets of the fourth octave, and discover the note C5, all while continuing their adventure into the fifth octave. They'll also dive into the adventurous world of the under-the-staff notes in the treble clef, where they encounter notes from the third octave, enhancing their appreciation for the intricate tapestry of music notation. Furthermore, they'll engage more with the substitute musical staff, known as the hand staff, introduced in the first of the primary workbooks of the series "Clefi's Little Notebook," while opening a new door to the captivating world of ascending and descending melodies and the powerful melodic and harmonic functions of the major fifth chord.
Like the first of the three, Clefi's Music Workbook 2 is not just a series of exercises; it's a joyful musical exploration filled with fun activities and creative coloring tasks that inspire anyone to express their passion for music.
About Dr. Eva's New Music Education School Series
To enhance the musical journey for our young musicians, we provide an engaging and informative book titled Clefi's Musical Instruments. This resource allows young musicians to explore the history of contemporary musical instruments and their fundamental families. Additionally, Dr. Eva has prepared three volumes of Clefi's Music Workbooks. These workbooks are designed to help aspiring musicians practice their newly acquired skills and knowledge while discovering intriguing facts about the nuances of music, musical symbols, and notation through fun and interactive exercises, rhymes, and songs. Furthermore, these books are a natural bridge between Clefi's Little Notebook and the more advanced Clefi's Music Notebooks.
Clefi's Music Notebooks 1, 2, 3, and 4 (currently being translated and adapted for English speaking readership) are designed to follow Clefi's Little Notebook. These four beautifully designed, full-color music textbooks are notable for their unique conceptual design. Each volume can be used independently as a complete unit. However, the author also designed them to work together as a cohesive method, allowing children to thoroughly understand the fundamentals of music theory in a friendly and engaging manner.
