Clefi's Music Workbook 3
“Clefi’s Music Workbook 3” is the final part of three supplemental exercise workbooks created by Dr. Eva Šašinková to complement her main workbooks in the New Music Education School series. This workbook is designed to help future instrumentalists who primarily use the bass clef become more familiar with and strengthen their understanding of it. The final book features the wonderful illustrations by Czech artist Kateřina Kovářová, M.A. It is also skillfully translated and adapted for English-speaking audiences by Dr. Roman Placzek, an accomplished Czech-American cellist, educator, composer, and publisher.
The workbook reviews familiar terms and symbols introduced in the previous two workbooks, such as the C major scale, notes and clefs on the musical staff, note and rest durations, and time signatures, all within the context of the bass clef. Exploring lower octaves prepares students to understand the octave transposition symbol and includes songs written in both the second and third octaves. Additionally, this workbook introduces note notation in the familiar fourth octave in the bass clef to help connect the notation used in both the bass and treble clefs.
Clefi’s Music Workbook 3 acts as a bridge between the two introductory primary workbooks, Clefi’s Little Notebook and Clefi’s Musical Instruments, and prepares students for the four volumes of Clefi’s Music Notebooks, which are the main parts of the New Music Education School series.
About Dr. Eva's New Music Education School Series
To help young musicians, we offer Clefi's Musical Instruments, a lively book that introduces children to the history and main groups of modern instruments. Dr. Eva has also created three Clefi’s Music Workbooks, which let students practice new skills and learn about music, symbols, and notation with enjoyable exercises, rhymes, and songs. Clefi's Music Workbook 3 is the final in a set of three extra workbooks designed by Czech music teacher and bass player Dr. Eva Sasinkova. These workbooks are meant to make learning more fun and effective when used with the main New Music Education School series. Together, they give young musicians more chances to practice and build on what they have learned through engaging activities.
