Clefi's Music Workbook 3
“Clefi’s Music Workbook 3” is the final installment of three supplemental exercise workbooks created by Dr. Eva Šašinková to complement her primary workbooks in the New Music Education School series. This workbook is designed to help future instrumentalists whose primary clef is the bass clef become more familiar with and reinforce their understanding of it. The final book does not lack the wonderful illustrations by Czech illustrator Kateřina Kovářová, M.A. and is also skillfully translated and adapted for English-speaking audiences by Dr. Roman Placzek, an accomplished Czech-American cellist, educator, composer, and publisher.
The workbook revisits familiar terms and symbols introduced in the previous two workbooks, such as the C major scale, the notes and clefs on the musical staff, note and rest durations, and time signatures, all within the context of the bass clef. Exploring lower octaves paves the way for understanding the octave transposition symbol and features songs written in both the second and third octaves. Additionally, this workbook introduces the notation of the notes in the familiar fourth octave in the bass clef to help connect the notation written in both the bass and treble clefs.
Clefi’s Music Workbook 3 serves as a bridge between the two introductory primary workbooks, Clefi’s Little Notebook and Clefi’s Musical Instruments, and prepares students for the four volumes of Clefi’s Music Notebook, which form the core of the New Music Education School series.
About Dr. Eva's New Music Education School Series
To enhance the musical journey for our young musicians, we provide an engaging and informative book titled Clefi's Musical Instruments. This resource allows young musicians to explore the history of contemporary musical instruments and their fundamental families. Additionally, Dr. Eva has prepared three volumes of Clefi's Music Workbooks. These workbooks are designed to help aspiring musicians practice their newly acquired skills and knowledge while discovering intriguing facts about the nuances of music, musical symbols, and notation through fun and interactive exercises, rhymes, and songs. Furthermore, these books are a natural bridge between Clefi's Little Notebook and the more advanced Clefi's Music Notebooks.
Clefi's Music Notebooks 1, 2, 3, and 4 (currently being translated and adapted for English speaking readership) are designed to follow Clefi's Little Notebook. These four beautifully designed, full-color music textbooks are notable for their unique conceptual design. Each volume can be used independently as a complete unit. However, the author also designed them to work together as a cohesive method, allowing children to thoroughly understand the fundamentals of music theory in a friendly and engaging manner.
