"Clefi's Musical Instruments" is the second workbook in the New Music Education School series created by Dr. Eva Šašinková. This workbook, filled with wonderful illustrations by Czech artist Kateřina Kovářová, M.A., is made for preschool and elementary students, as well as anyone who loves learning about music with an open heart and a childlike sense of wonder. Dr. Roman Placzek, a respected Czech-American cellist, educator, composer, and publisher, skillfully translated and adapted the content for English-speaking audiences.

In this volume, Clefi and his friends embark on an exciting adventure to explore the history of musical instruments and their various families. Our little guide will share the story of how musical instruments came to be, introduce us to musical sounds, showcase some of the first musical instruments, and explain the basic classification of instrumental families. Through songs, rhymes, and games, young future musicians will learn about percussion and wind instruments, and their subdivisions into woodwinds and brasses. About Dr. Eva's New Music Education School Series

The first volume of the New Music Education School series is Clefi's Little Notebook, which is designed for young musicians and everyone young at heart who wishes to learn music colorfully and organically. It introduces us to Clefi, a charming little boy who shares his journey with us. Clefi becomes our guide on this musical adventure. In Clefi's Little Notebook, children explore musical notation, learn how a song is created, discover what a musical note is, understand the musical staff, and get to know the clef (which inspired Clefi's name). They also learn the musical alphabet and scales. The book encourages them to read and write notes in the fourth and middle octaves, practicing their new skills through exercises, puzzles, engaging tasks, and songs to play and sing.
